Welcome, geeks!

So you’ve come to this blog… whether you’re an improv virgin, obsessed with it (like I am), enjoy theater and want to check out the best troupes in the Orange County area, or got drunk and don’t remember how you got here, welcome!

First off, it’s important to note that goats climb trees. I swear, picture to prove it. BOOP. There you go. Goats.

FACT: Goats climb trees.

FACT: Goats climb trees.

Alright, now that we have that covered… let’s talk improv. I’m madly in love with it, I have been since I took my first class about nine years ago. It was with the amazing and wonderful Cherie Kerr. Cherie is one of the founding members of the L.A. Groundlings, president of KerrPR and ExecuProv, author of 12 books, a writer, director, and founder of the OC Crazies! She is absolutely extraordinary and I am so proud to have been trained by someone so remarkable. My life, thanks to Cherie and the OC Crazies, revolves around improv. Where else can you get together with a group of strangers and end up talking about bestiality, clowns, and llamas within the first five minutes?

Admittedly, I’ve become a bit of an improv snob. When I’m not watching improv shows, I’m performing in them, or taking classes. I have been trained to notice the tiny details that differentiate an improv rookie from an improv master. LEAVE SPACE IN YOUR HANDS GODDAMNIT.

In this blog there will be improv tips, games, ideas, prompts, reviews, and other stuff, I don’t know… most likely improv stuff, and really important things like the goats.

I’ll end this post with a quote… a quote that I have lived my life by,

Fuck it.
